Description

KAYR provides a platform whose goal is to build a stronger, more supportive community. We connect those who want to help with those in need. With KAYR, you can easily post when you want to offer help or need a hand, filter across posts & communicate with those that may be a match. And there’s another unique element to this platform, inspired by gamification & blockchain technologies: a Karma system.

How does it work? You get a certain amount of Karma (1,000 points) when you join. Karma can then be shared with other users who help you, thus allowing one to accumulate Karma points the more they help... Think of it like XP (Experience Points) in many modern games. And with more points, you move to different Karma Levels. And with new levels, one unlock new rewards, such as store discounts or coupons. 77% of the dozens of folks we interviewed said it was important for them to recognize or reciprocate an act of kindness, even if not in traditional means. Karma offers a way that people to show appreciation & create a more caring, unified community.

But, there's an even more advanced version of KAYR that's not linked above: http://app.kayr.org.

This is a version that has been built for real B2B university clients that we have started working with, representing 25K+ students, who want to pilot KAYR for the internal communities at their university. The newest version of KAYR takes community-building to a whole new level: Not only can you connect people who want to give/ need help, but you can also join events run by student unions, participate in student societies or clubs, or participate in monthly wellness challenges. This version of KAYR rewards students for getting involved & helping their communities, with each of the partners offering really valuable prizes often linked to student-run businesses.

If you want to try the newest version of KAYR @ http://app.kayr.org, please login with the username "student@university.ca" & password "kary2020". And let us know what you think! We're always looking for feedback: thekayrproject@gmail.com
